HR Benefits Specialist (With US Benefits Experience)

ROLE OVERVIEW
The Benefits Senior Associate is responsible for overseeing the daily administration of U.S.-based employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans. This role serves as the primary contact for employees and external benefits providers, ensuring seamless communication, accurate processing, and compliance in all aspects of benefits management. The position plays a key role in maintaining enrollment accuracy, resolving issues, and supporting audits and vendor relations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required :
- Bachelors degree in a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in U.S. benefits administration (as an assistant, coordinator, specialist, or similar role)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive employee data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of managing multiple competing tasks in a high-paced work environment
- Keen attention to detail, solid critical thinking, and effective problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (including PivotTables and VLOOKUP functions)
- Familiarity with U.S. federal and state benefits regulations , including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and Section 125
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Handle daily administration of U.S. employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, COBRA, FSAs, HSAs, life insurance, disability coverage, voluntary plans, and 401(k)Manage employee leaves, including FMLA, ADA, and state-specific leave policiesProvide employees with support and education on benefits eligibility and plan optionsCoordinate with benefits providers to address enrollment, eligibility, and data-related concernsFacilitate benefits onboarding sessions for new hiresReview and reconcile payroll deduction and enrollment reports; follow up with employees to resolve missed enrollments or premium changesAudit and process benefits invoices, ensuring accurate billing and timely paymentSupport annual benefits audits, regulatory filings, and compliance-related reporting, including ACA and nondiscrimination testingAssist with annual open enrollment processes for U.S. employeesCollaborate with benefits brokers to prepare communication materials such as enrollment guides, newsletters, and intranet contentContribute to the internal management and improvement of the Benefits ProgramDevelop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for benefits processesEscalate urgent or complex issues to the Senior Manager, Total RewardsEnsure compliance with SLAs, internal policies, and applicable regulatory and professional standardsDeliver exceptional service while reflecting the companys core values and behaviorsPerform additional duties as required
